Townsville City Galleries presents an exciting Family Fun Day to launch our newest exhibition, Yucky Yum Yum. Join us for a range of activities to celebrate all things yucky, yummy, and everything in-between!
This exhibition is especially for kids, but it’s for older people too. The artists in this exhibition have made works that you might find both yucky and yum. Have you ever tried eating something that adults say is disgusting but it tastes delicious? Have you ever seen something that is sad but also a bit funny? Then this is the exhibition for you. Yucky Yum Yum is on all summer long and is packed with activities. Just don’t eat ice-cream off the pavement.
Featuring artworks by: Lisa Ashcroft, Mechelle Bounpraseuth, Julia deVille, Hotham Street Ladies, Jan Hynes, Smac Macreanor, Jenny Orchard, Kenny Pittock, Scott Redford, Ebony Russell and Elizabeth Willing.
Yucky Yum Yum will be exhibiting at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery from 30 November – 9 March 2025.
Sweet Sculptures – With the Hotham Street Ladies! 🍭
Join the Hotham Street Ladies for a fun sugary art session! Each participant will craft their own sweet sculpture using fondant and a variety of lollies. Shape your fondant into something fun and imaginative, and then decorate it with colourful edible markers and delicious treats.

Easy Peasy Pizzas 🍕
Enter the Perc Tucker Pizza kitchen and create yummy, yucky, weird, and wacky collaged pizzas!

Anything is Popsicle – Activity Space🍦
Create your own ice cream in the Anything Is Popsicle Activity Space by Kenny Pittock! Design yummy and yucky paper ice-creams to showcase in our ice-cream van!
Available during Gallery open hours!

All materials are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis for all of our workshops. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Perc Tucker Regional Gallery will have extended opening hours for this event and be open from 9:30am - 3:00pm.
