Wintergarden Festival of Music

Townsville City Council is proud to present the Wintergarden Festival of Music, a free community event celebrating the region’s rich and diverse musical talent.

Taking its name from the historic Wintergarden Theatre, which stood on Sturt Street and was a beloved entertainment venue in Townsville from 1927 to 1991, the festival honours the theatre's legacy of bringing people together through live entertainment and shared cultural experiences.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Queens Gardens, the festival will feature headline performances by the 1RAR Band and Great Barrier Reef Orchestra, alongside a lineup of local musical talent.

Pack a picnic and rug and settle in on the lawns, or enjoy a bite from a selection of food trucks, while soaking up an afternoon of live music and entertainment.
