World Premiere – The Assignment – Written and Directed by Terri Brabon

It's 1989 and Jamie Kelly fills her idyllic existence with Young Talent Time, Take 40 Australia and anything dance! But when she is accused of cheating on an assignment, Jamie discovers that sometimes life can get in the way of your dreams.

No, no, no, no, no! I'm the one that the audience loves, got me! I'm Molly Ringwald and you... you are just one of those... beautiful... blonde-haired actresses whose name no-one ever remembers.

Molly Ringwald

Another world premiere of a TheatreiNQ Original, written and directed by Terri Brabon for the talents of TheatreiNQ's next generation. The Assignment is a coming-of-age comedy that celebrates life growing up in a small North Queensland town, in a very different time.

Featuring Emma Smith, Hunter Sams, Ava Saldana Lopez, Faith Taylor and Aiva Tyrie.

Suitable for ages 13 and over.

Content warning: some strong language, adult themes, and some seriously high fringes.

This project was made possible by the Australian Government's Regional Arts Fund, provided through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance. This project is supported by the Townsville City Council through the Community Grants Program.
