Overview
Townsville City Council's Seniors Week 2026 is a free community celebration dedicated to honouring, connecting and celebrating Townsville’s older residents.
Bringing the community together through a range of welcoming, inclusive and accessible experiences, Seniors Week encourages people to stay active, social and engaged while recognising the valuable contributions seniors make to our community.
In 2026, Seniors Week rolls out the red carpet with a glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood theme, transforming the celebrations into a tribute to the elegance, charm and nostalgia of a bygone era. Attendees can expect classic Hollywood-inspired styling, timeless entertainment and plenty of opportunities to embrace a little movie-star magic. Think vintage glamour, movie-star sparkle and memorable experiences designed to celebrate connection, community and wellbeing.

Tuesday 18 August 2026 9am - midday The Seniors Lifestyle Expo is a relaxed and welcoming event showcasing the many services, organisations and local businesses that support seniors across Townsville. Visitors can connect with providers focused on health and wellbeing, lifestyle and independence, social opportunities, leisure activities and community connections. The Seniors Lifestyle Expo offers a vibrant and friendly atmosphere where seniors can discover new opportunities, access valuable information and enjoy a great day out. |
Seniors Luncheon** |

Thursday 20 and Friday 21 August 2026 10:30am - 1:30pm The Seniors Luncheon is one of the most anticipated social highlights on Townsville’s seniors' calendar. These free, ticketed events invite seniors to enjoy a catered sit-down lunch in a warm and celebratory setting, shared with friends old and new. Guests will be treated to a high-quality entertainment program featuring talented local performers, all while embracing this year’s Hollywood-inspired theme. Save the date – bookings open Tuesday 14 July 2026.
