Overview
The Commemorative Service is to remember the 212 National Servicemen who were killed in action in Borneo and Vietnam along with 263 killed in training. Also, on this day we dedicate 18 plaques in the name of National Servicemen who have passed away in the Townsville District in the past twelve months. After the blessing of the plaques the widows place poppies in memory of their partners.
It is a solemn service with:
- a Catalfaque Party mounted by the Royal Australin Air Force
- 1RAR Band providing the music for hymns
- Bulgar playing the Last Post and The Rouse
- a piper playing the Lament.
A wreath and booking laying ceremony will be followed by a presentation to the widows of a widow pin.
The books presented are donated at school assemblies with a short talk about National Service.

Notes:
We do not have a Facebook page or website.
This is a very important day for us as National Servicemen's Branches are closing due to members passing away, sickness and disabilities.
Our branch will only continue while we have able members to administer it. Our Commemorative Service will hopefully continue after we are all departed.
The public is most welcome to attend.
