Let’s celebrate Townsville’s rivers, creeks, and coastal waters!
Fishing. Boating. Paddling. Swimming. The waterways of Townsville and the broader Dry Tropics wind their way into our daily lives.
Join us, and a bunch of our awesome Partners, in Stand Park for activities and science demonstrations, that showcase how Townsville connects with and cares for its waterways.
This year’s Healthy Waters Arvo will be delivered during Strand Ephemera. Stroll the free public art festival along the Strand, and visit our pop-up event to ‘sea’ how you can leave less of a trace on our waterways.
Healthy waters = healthy town!

The Healthy Waters Partnership for the Dry Tropics is made up of Partners from business, industry, research, education, and all levels of government. Together, we gather and analyse environmental data to provide our community with an independent picture of the health of our waterways and Reef, in the annual Townsville Dry Tropics Waterways Report Card. The 2025 Report Card will be released in mid-July.
