Great Barrier Reef Clean-Up 2026

Townsville City Council will host a local Great Barrier Reef Clean-Up event at Bushland Beach Park on Saturday 24 October 2026 from 8:30am to 10:30am. The free community event encourages volunteers to help tackle litter on the coastline and protect Townsville’s natural environment.

Council is supporting the Great Barrier Reef Clean Up as part of its ongoing commitment as a Reef Guardian Council. Clean up bags and gloves will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to wear enclosed shoes, sun-safe clothing, and a wide-brimmed hat. Attendees will receive a free thank-you refreshment and native plant.
