Overview

Townsville Citylibraries have partnered with St John Queensland to offer a range of non-accredited first aid courses for those who want to gain essential lifesaving knowledge and skills without the need for formal certification.

From backyard mishaps to poolside emergencies, knowing how to respond can make all the difference. This practical first aid course is designed for community members who want to feel prepared—not just for the big moments, but for the everyday ones too.

You'll learn how to manage:

  • Drowning and choking incidents,
  • Burns and shock,
  • Wounds and bleeding, from grazes to serious cuts
  • Fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations,
  • Head, neck, spinal, chest and abdominal injuries, and
  • Facial and eye injuries.

This course is ideal for parents, carers, volunteers, and anyone who wants to build practical skills for real-world situations. Just useful knowledge and hands-on experience you can rely on.

Bookings are essential. Aimed at 16 years and over.
