Overview

Townsville Citylibraries have partnered with St John Queensland to offer a range of non-accredited first aid courses for those who want to gain essential lifesaving knowledge and skills without the need for formal certification.

Emergencies can happen anywhere—at home, at the park, or during school pick-up. This practical, easy-to-follow course is designed for anyone who wants to feel confident stepping in when it matters most.

In just one session, you’ll learn:

✓The DRSABCD Action Plan to assess and respond to emergencies

✓How to perform CPR safely and effectively

✓The importance of the Chain of Survival

✓When and how to use a defibrillator, including on children

✓How to prepare a casualty and place defibrillator pads correctly

✓ Real-world practice using a defibrillator

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, sports coach or simply someone who wants to be ready, this course gives you the knowledge and hands-on skills to act with confidence. No prior experience needed—just a willingness to learn.

Bookings are essential.

Aimed at 16 years and over.
