Overview
Dancenorth's open-level Contemporary Dance Classes focus on moving your body in a way that feels great. Whether you're an experienced dancer or just finding your feet, you are welcomed into the studio to move creatively and expressively. We will help you get your groove on, build your confidence and discover the joy of movement.
Classes will be taught by experienced dancers who are encouraging, non-judgemental and fun to be around. Each week will begin with a warm-up that focuses on different movement ideas including shaking, stretching, swinging and the transfer of weight to prepare the body for movement. Class will then progress through more structured short phrases and an introduction to floor work.
We adhere to safe physical, emotional and cultural practises to ensure we create an environment that is safe and healthy to learn in. Overall dancers are encouraged to play, grow their skills, find greater freedom in their bodies and have a wonderful time.
Please Note: These classes have limited capacity. Registrations are essential. From time to time, these classes may be held at an alternative venue due to changes in Dancenorth’s schedule. Please check our website and social media for weekly class location updates.
