Overview
This is a 1-hour event each Monday and Thursday morning from 7am until 8am. For those that are unable to attend the 7am sessions, we also offer a 90 minute session occasionally on the weekend later in the morning, or occasionally in the evening.
Payment – Sliding scale – this is an opportunity to contribute to the centre's running costs. Tickets start from $12.34.
Things to Know - The centre is air-conditioned. We sit on meditation cushions on the plush Mellow mats on the floor with a low table. There are also chairs if you require that seating. Blankets, bolsters, and cushions are also available for your comfort.
What to Expect
- This is a loving and accepting community created with intention by Mo and Alli.
- Either Mo or Alli (sometimes Reiner) will be serving, with the other warmly greeting you when you attend.
- After being greeted, we enter the meditative space without talking. The ceremony during the weekdays are 45 minutes, 60 minutes on weekends, with 15 minutes to share your experiences.
- These sessions are an intimate space for gathering of up to 9 people per tea ceremony (7 participants, 1 tea server; 1 assistant).
- Four rounds of quality tea are served (typically pu'er, or silver needles tea, or black tea).
- Gentle, quiet meditative music is played throughout the ceremony.
- At the end of the ceremony and the 4 rounds, we share a reading from the 2nd book of the Tao, then open up the invitation to share your experience. We are often surprised by what comes to mind in the presence of tea in silence.
Bowl Tea Ceremony – Quiet Contemplation:
A tea ceremony is a meditation practice, as you focus on the tea and yourself. As you drink tea, you also meditate noticing what is present in the stillness.
It is a beautiful mindfulness practice and a great way to take a break from our busy lives, to come into stillness and gain access to the information of our spirit and consciousness that is available to you in this mindfulness practice.
These sessions typically book out, as many people rebook after experiencing this surprisingly wonderful practice.
The Benefits of this Meditation Practice:
- Receiving information – People often get a great deal of information – sometimes called 'downloads', or insights that they like to capture in a journal.
- Calming of the nervous system.
- Connection – to ourselves, and to others.
- Stillness, clarity, and help improve your wellbeing
- Medicinal properties of the tea.
- Encourages us to put pauses between our actions.
Please Note:
- We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early, to settle the mind and have either Mo or Alli explain what to expect.
- The bathroom, filtered water and some seating space is available before entering the ceremony.
With love and light, thank you for being here.
Mo and Alli.
