Townsville City Galleries is pleased to present a special Reconciliation Week edition of Art-box! Join us for a storytime and art workshop with local artist, Bernadette Russell and her mother Desley Barba and celebrate culture and the arts.
Bernadette and Aunty Desley will deliver a storytime session based on the children’s book Sam’s Fishing Adventure by Bernadette’s daughter Monique Russell. The story tells of Monique's grandfather Samat (Sam) Barba's adventures as a Torres Strait Islander boy with his father and sister on a fishing trip in the Torres Strait Islands. Then get creative and use seed pods to create a fishing boat just like the one in the story in this fun workshop for under 5s!
