Overview

The Queensland Country Rugby Championships is a large-scale event that will attract more than 2,000 visitors from across Queensland and interstate. It offers an exceptional opportunity to showcase Townsville as a premier sporting and tourism destination, while also delivering a substantial boost to local businesses, accommodation providers, and hospitality venues.


Senior Tournament

Held at Mike Carney Toyota Park, 165 Hugh Street, Currajong.

  • Competitions: U18 Women, U19 Men, Senior Women and Senior Men
  • 13 representative teams from North Queensland, Central Queensland and South Queensland
  • 500+ senior players and support staff
  • 3-day tournament: Friday 27 June to Sunday 29 June

Junior Tournament

Held at Townsville Sports Reserve and Townsville Grammar School.

  • Competitions: U13, U14, U16 Boys and Girls
  • 40 representative teams from across QLD including Townsville, Cairns, Mackay, Rocky, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Darling Downs and Brisbane
  • 1,000+ junior players and support staff
  • 3-day tournament: Monday 30 June to Wednesday 2 July

There will be coffee, food and drinks for purchase all day. Plenty of room for everyone to sit to venue great representative rugby.
