Description
Welcoming Babies Ceremonies are held as a special event for our city's youngest residents and their families. Participating families will receive a welcoming certificate on the day, a gift bag and be photographed alongside the Mayor of Townsville. Families will be sent a complimentary photo to mark the occasion in the weeks following the event.
You may want to consider a future Welcoming Babies Ceremonies (please note, registered babies need to be 13 months or younger at the time of the ceremony).

Ceremony numbers are limited to 150 babies in total. Parents and the child to be welcomed must be residents of Townsville and babies must be 13 months or younger.
Attendees will be required to arrive 15 minutes prior to their nominated session to register.
What if I can’t attend the next ceremony being held in March 2019?
Council hold two ceremonies each year, with the second Welcoming Babies Ceremony taking place on Sunday 15 September 2019.
If you baby will be 13 months or under in September, you can register your interest for the September Welcoming Babies Ceremony by visiting the Welcoming Babies expression of interest form.
We will send you a reminder closer to the event to encourage you to register a suitable session time.
