The Ugly Bunyip Band

Shane Russell aka DJ Ugly Bunyip resides in the south coast of NSW and passes his time finding and creating new Electro Swing beats. When the sun is shining he likes to don his gangster suit and perform, making people of all ages shake their tails and tap their feet. In 2016 he joined forces with a killer horn section to form the band which has since featured at festivals all around Australia: Jesse Tachibana (Sydney) – trumpet, Travers Keirle (Sydney) – saxophone, Gavin Findlay (Townsville) – bass trumpet. Add the magic of Mr Michael, aka Michael Liu (Canberra) on violin and get ready for a scorching set of dancefloor delerium.

Rizon Live and Ashcats Sound System are based in Cairns, where they run the Australian arm of the global Speakeasy Electro Swing brand prevalent in 18 cities around the world including New York, Washington, Paris, Montreal & Barcelona. In the last few years they have toured the events around the country in Melbourne, Adelaide, Port Douglas and Cairns along with festival appearances at Rainbow Serpent, Mushroom Valley, Kuranda Roots, Burning Seed & many more. This duo are no strangers to making people dance with their unique blend of electro swing, ghetto funk and future vintage sounds.
